Project Overview
TEMS Solar completed a residential solar and battery installation in Wokingham, Berkshire. The system was designed to maximise renewable energy generation across a hipped roof while carefully working around existing skylights to make the best use of the available roof space.
System Design & Specifications
The installation provides a total solar PV capacity of 4.79kWp using 11 JINKO 435W modules. The panels were strategically installed across two faces of the hipped roof, allowing the system to capture sunlight from different angles while maintaining an efficient and practical layout around the existing skylights.
A Fox H1 6.0kW hybrid inverter manages the system, seamlessly integrating solar production with battery storage. The Fox ECS 5.8kWh high-voltage battery stores surplus energy generated during daylight hours, allowing it to be used during evenings or periods of lower solar output.
Installation Highlights
A key feature of this project is the bespoke panel arrangement across two roof faces of a hipped roof. Careful planning was required to position the panels around existing skylights, maximising generation capacity while preserving access to natural light and maintaining the roof’s appearance.
