Case Study: Bespoke Solar & Battery Installation – High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
Project Overview
TEMS Solar completed a residential solar and battery installation in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The system was designed to maximise renewable energy generation while working around existing roof features, ensuring optimal use of the available roof space.
System Design & Specifications
The installation provides a total solar PV capacity of 7.4kWp using 17 JINKO 435W modules. The panel layout was carefully planned around existing skylights to achieve the highest possible generation capacity while maintaining a clean and practical roof design.
A Fox 6kW hybrid inverter manages the system, seamlessly integrating solar production with battery storage. The system is paired with a Fox ECS 8.6kWh high-voltage battery, allowing excess energy generated during the day to be stored for use during evenings or periods of lower solar output.
Installation Highlights
A key feature of this project is the bespoke panel arrangement around existing skylights. This required careful planning and precision installation to maximise the number of panels installed without compromising roof functionality or aesthetics.
Results & Benefits
The installation provides the homeowner with:
Strong solar generation despite roof obstructions
Increased self-consumption through integrated battery storage
Reduced electricity bills and lower reliance on the grid
Optimised use of available roof space around skylights
Greater energy flexibility with enhanced battery capacity
Conclusion
This project demonstrates how thoughtful system design can overcome architectural challenges while still delivering excellent solar performance. TEMS Solar provided a tailored solution that maximises efficiency, practicality, and long-term energy savings.
