Case Study: East-West Solar & Battery Installation – Buckingham, Buckinghamshire
Project Overview
TEMS Solar completed a residential solar and battery installation in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire. The system was designed to maximise renewable energy generation by utilising multiple roof aspects, while incorporating battery storage to increase self-consumption and reduce reliance on grid electricity.
System Design & Specifications
The installation delivers a total solar PV capacity of 6.02kWp using 14 JINKO 430W modules. The panels were strategically positioned across east and west-facing roof aspects, creating a balanced generation profile that captures sunlight from morning through to evening.
A Fox 6kW hybrid inverter manages the system, seamlessly integrating solar production with battery storage. The system is paired with a Fox ECS 5.8kWh battery, allowing surplus energy generated during daylight hours to be stored and used during the evening or periods of lower solar output.
Installation Highlights
A key feature of this project is the multi-facial panel arrangement across the east and west-facing aspects. This configuration makes efficient use of the available roof space while extending the property's solar generation window throughout the day.
Results & Benefits
The installation provides the homeowner with:
Extended solar generation from morning through to evening
Increased self-consumption through integrated battery storage
Reduced electricity bills and lower reliance on the grid
Optimised use of multiple roof aspects
Greater energy flexibility and independence
Conclusion
This project demonstrates how an east-west solar design combined with battery storage can maximise renewable energy generation and household energy use. TEMS Solar delivered a tailored solution focused on efficiency, practicality, and long-term energy savings.
