Outdoor Solar & Battery Installation – Waterlooville, Hampshire
Project Overview
TEMS Solar completed a residential solar and battery installation in Waterlooville, Hampshire. The system was designed to provide reliable renewable energy generation while incorporating an outdoor equipment setup to preserve valuable indoor space for the homeowner.
System Design & Specifications
The installation delivers a total solar PV capacity of 4.81kWp using 13 JA SOLAR 370W modules. The solar array was designed to make effective use of the available roof space and provide renewable electricity to support household energy demand.
A GivEnergy 5kW hybrid inverter manages the system, integrating solar generation with battery storage. The installation is paired with a GivEnergy 5.2kWh battery, allowing surplus electricity generated during daylight hours to be stored for use when solar production is lower.
Installation Highlights
A key feature of this project is the external installation of the inverter and battery. Using weatherproof equipment suitable for outdoor installation allowed TEMS Solar to keep the system outside the property, freeing up indoor space while providing integrated solar generation and energy storage.
Results & Benefits
The installation provides the homeowner with:
Renewable electricity generation from 13 JA SOLAR modules
Increased potential for self-consumption through battery storage
Space-saving installation with the inverter and battery positioned outdoors
Reduced reliance on grid electricity
Greater flexibility in household energy use
Conclusion
This project demonstrates how thoughtful equipment placement can help homeowners benefit from solar and battery technology without sacrificing valuable indoor space. TEMS Solar delivered a practical solution combining solar generation, integrated storage, and an outdoor-rated installation to support long-term energy efficiency and savings.
