Multi-Aspect Solar & Battery Installation – Leatherhead, Surrey
Project Overview
TEMS Solar completed a residential solar and battery installation in Leatherhead, Surrey. The system was designed to maximise renewable energy generation across three faces of a hipped roof, making the best use of the available space while supporting solar generation at different times of the day.
System Design & Specifications
The installation delivers a total solar PV capacity of 4.98kWp using 12 TRINA SOLAR 415W modules. The panels were strategically distributed across three roof faces, allowing the system to capture sunlight from different directions and make efficient use of the property's roof space.
A GivEnergy 5kW hybrid inverter manages the system, integrating solar generation with battery storage. The installation is paired with a GivEnergy 9.5kWh battery, allowing surplus electricity generated during daylight hours to be stored for use during the evening or periods of lower solar production.
Installation Highlights
A key feature of this project is the bespoke panel arrangement across three faces of the hipped roof. Careful planning enabled TEMS Solar to maximise the available installation area while creating a more distributed generation profile throughout the day. The battery adds further flexibility by storing surplus energy for later use.
Results & Benefits
The installation provides the homeowner with:
Solar generation across three roof faces
Greater potential for consistent generation throughout the day
Increased self-consumption through 9.5kWh battery storage
More effective use of the hipped roof's available space
Reduced reliance on grid electricity and greater energy flexibility
Conclusion
This project demonstrates how a carefully planned multi-aspect solar installation can make the most of a hipped roof. TEMS Solar delivered a tailored solution combining TRINA SOLAR panels, GivEnergy hybrid inverter technology, and battery storage to support efficient renewable energy use and long-term household savings.
